Joe Keeling

More than two decades in law enforcement, emergency medical services, and major event operations — most of it in Louisville.
Joe founded Keeling Security Consultants in 2024 to do one thing well: put sworn, accountable officers on the posts that matter, with a written plan behind them. He built the company around the work he already knew — planning large public safety operations, running multi-agency coordination, and managing the incidents that events are staffed to prevent.
His law enforcement career has been with the Louisville Metro Police Department, where he has served as a Detective Sergeant leading detectives on major criminal investigations, as a Patrol Sergeant directing patrol operations and critical incident response, and as a Detective working major crimes alongside local, state, and federal partners.
He is also the Director of Safety and Security at Hurstbourne Country Club, where he develops safety protocols and conducts ongoing risk assessments, and a Security Consultant for the ISCO Championship, a PGA TOUR and DP World Tour event held at the club in 2025 and 2026. In that role he works alongside PGA TOUR Security to plan and execute tournament-week operations — scheduling and supervising off-duty officers, coordinating with local, state, and federal partners, and providing protective coverage for officials, VIPs, and professional golfers.
His background before LMPD is a large part of why the planning is what it is: seven years as an EMT with Louisville Metro EMS, and service as a Maritime Law Enforcement Specialist with the U.S. Coast Guard conducting law enforcement, vessel inspections, and drug interdiction — the service that makes this a veteran-owned business.
